Concept of Love

Today's concept of love

I fail to comprehend

Where relationships begin

Only to soon end.

Where it's all about bodies

And not about the heart.

Where you can lay real close

And yet feel so apart.

Where bodies are mere objects

To extinguish lustful desires

Where all you lose is yourself

And wounds are all you acquire.

Where "I love you" is just a phrase

And "forever", a myth.

Where people are together

Just for the sake of it.

Today's concept of love

I fail to understand

Maybe that's why I prefer solitude

Over any good man.
