Colours of You

The blue of your heart cried with me,

All the times I was broken and slain,

It bled when I bled and battled my fears,

It stabbed itself and breathed through the pain.

The red of your heart loved me,

It flew me through blue skies and enriched my deepest hues,

It showed me my reflection,

In better colours than I’d ever viewed.

The golden of your heart was the better half of me,

It taught me right from wrong when I was too blind to see,

It held my hand when the slope was too steep,

And taught me to reach the peak.
