Color(Less)

The murmur of the wintry river

Is where green takes me,

The misty dew of fresh mornings

Its rustle is what blue is to me.

The heavenly taste of chocolate

And I picture a pot of gold,

Red takes me to my mother’s touch

Cause that feeling never gets old.

The scent of a burning candle

My mind imagines lavender,

The beautiful thought of yellow

The silence of sunrise, young and tender.

Raindrops fall gently on my head

My mind senses the shade of teal,

The innocent cry of an infant

Is what pink makes me feel.

The colors don’t add up, you wonder why?

Since birth I’ve been deprived of my sight,

Never been a clear shade of grey in my life

For I see colors only in black and white.
