Clay

There is a kiss which lips know nothing about,

a type of eclipse which grabs the attention of all.

It is a coming together as precarious

as untied shoelaces to a running man,

a heads and tails united as one,

the electricity between plug and socket.

It is the estuary in which both river and sea meet,

rendering them inseparable,

forcing those in both their bellies

to a dance whose song is manifested

by ocean waves.

This kiss is between flesh and spirit -

it shackles a free man to his destiny

like clay to a potter,

to mould a future that will be applauded by all.
