Circle of Life
By S.Viswanathan
When my time comes I shall know.
The Earth upon which I walk
will prepare to feast.
For ages, the bones I sucked,
the flesh I tore, the fruits I chewed,
and craved for more,
shall depart,
piece
by piece.
Likewise, my spirit that lusted
and raged for wealth and fame,
will be put to rest.
The storm shall return its sand to
the dunes,
As the wind simmers down, merges,
and swoons.
In lands far across, another like me,
shall fancy himself his destiny,
and he too shall swirl, hurl, twist,
and whirl,
for he too shall respond to his mutiny.
If this indeed is the Circle of Life -
Then who was born?
and who shall die?
