Chronicles in constellations.

I hang in the shadows,

Behind the blinding light.

There are just too many fires,

That burn in the galaxies’ night.

My voice a steady stream in the dark,

Like striking wooden flint for a spark,

I have the potential to blaze with glory,

If only I were loud enough to tell my story.

If only I could cast a stronger silhouette,

Inkier than the black ash of a cigarette,

So that I can at least be a bigger detail,

In the midst of a comet trail.

Instead, I always hang back,

And watch as everyone fiercely fawns,

Over the universe’s many novae,

Watching their revelries bask in dawns.

But when they turn around,

They will finally see,

How much the shadows have gathered,

Grown into the vastness that is me.
