Childish Yearning

When I was a kid, butterflies roamed the garden,

And you could say I was their warden.

Looked over them like a father,

Cared for them like a mother.




Oh, how I wished I could borrow their colorful wings,

I dreamt of glide among the leaves of autumn,

Showing off my imaginary wings to the world,

But even at that age I knew,

I had nothing but childish yearning for its wings,

Even though I couldn’t have them.......
