Child Like Me

Staring at the wall again

Thinking about it all again

Maybe she did it all wrong

And this is all she comes to now

No one at all by her side

She’s been left alone this time

They all assume but they don’t try

To understand this poor child

Who makes mistakes a couple times

Who’s blamed for things she didn’t try

Who doesn’t fall that easily

But if she does she’s too clingy

She holds on tight and doesn’t leave

She’s a child, she’s a baby

Who they just hate and they can’t keep

Cause a child like this, is a child like me

It’s three AM and she’s still up

A lot of thoughts, just so caught up

And everything that is there

Is a broken heart and a teddy bear

So she writes so poems and some songs

About her life and what is gone

Hoping that someone would read

And come and try to stop the bleed

She tries to sleep but doesn’t know

Where her mind’s just try’na go

They all assume but they don’t try

To understand this poor child

Who says she’s sorry million times

Forgetting it is what she trys

People change so easily

It makes it hard for her to breathe

She holds on tight and doesn’t leave

To all the thoughts and memories

Who they just hate and they cant keep

Cause a child like this, is a child like me
