Chance

By Naisha Srivastava

He gave me life and he gave me you,

With your dazzling presence

And warm forbidden hands

Have I been given a chance?

Do I envy or love?

Such similar emotions with

Foreboding apprehension,

Do I take the chance?

I, the secret, and you the enigma

With such less time as sand,

Gathering rose buds I wonder,

Have I taken the chance?

Remittance of my sinful actions

Yet I house sin in my body

Walking through, realising

I shouldn’t have taken the chance.
