Can't Forget

The sun set

the nightmares began.

I brought my pillow to my chest.

My eyes were closed

but I could see you

hiding behind secrets.

I thought you'd loved me.

Then what is this torture?

Isn't leaving me alone enough?

You were cremated by the sea.

I can recall the smell.

I'm not that tough.

And now, you're on my shelf.

You're also in front of me.

Scaring me half to death.

But that's fine,

I'll take the lies.

Up until my last breath.
