It is wonderful to sit by the window-pane,

Looking at the mountain and rain,

And listen to the sun-bird’s songs all morn,

Until he meets me the next bright dawn.

The day passes watching at the flowers dance,

While the tiny little faeries laugh and prance,

While the roses shine bright and pink,

The dew drops fall and daintily clink.

The naughty stars then come out of their hiding place,

Spreading their shiny wings in their inky space,

Calling to the moon- to come out soon,

And cast upon the world its magical swoon.
