The river barely has any water left It’s drum and gush

Now, not a rush

Empty, silent, now it rests

I remember the days

When the river surged

Into the ocean, it merged

Now, it went its own way

Dirt, rubble, sand and silt

That’s all that's left

Oh, how bereft

Empty, silent and now it rests

Near verdant valleys

And picturesque sceneries The river now,

Forever it ceases

The cherry blossoms wilt

They used to bloom

But, now in a tomb

By the river,

Once rich with silt
