Bright Diwali

Diwali; The Festival of Light,
With evenings that are quite a sight!
For lanterns and lights glow bright!
Even the sky is lit by burning crackers at great heights!
On floors and atop walls,
Burn diyas, handmade or from stalls!
Each splashed with exotic tints,
Perhaps even some beautiful floral imprints!
With similar colour, rangolis are made!
Where artistic designs are displayed,
From simple flowers and leaves,
To something out of dreams!
From wet mud and bricks,
Perhaps some toys or some sticks,
A fort is made, small yet grand,
From hard-working hands!
Sweets are exchanged among family and friends!
In minutes, an entire pile ends!
While many sweets are sold at stores and stands,
The best come from Mother’s hands!
Diwali isn’t just the festival of light,
It’s of family and friends-yes, that’s right!
For a Diwali devoid of our close ones,
Is a case that stuns!
