Bride of Fantasy

I watch you

As you curl up into me

Pulling me closer

Flesh and bone, mere cages for our soul’s true desire

I trace my lips across your skin

Never knowing when it would be the last

For our forever is tainted with an end

And our till deaths do us part promised to near strangers

And although our hearts yearn for each other

Never will our fingers bear the proof of our devotion

So we spill it into our here and nows

Each moment spent in frenzied bliss

Sunsets and sunrises spent

In the colours of our love spilled

For if my I do’s aren’t pledged to you

I shall forever be the bride to fantasy

Our future forever replaying

The truth of my heart, my lethal daydream
