Bliss

Like fine wine you are,
Better with age.
Like the first rays of the sun on my back
Filling me with warmth and promise of good things.
Like sweet honey on my lips,
I only yearn for you more.
You wrap me in your embrace
Oh, I feel inexplicable joy!
There is depth in your affection
Zeal in your quest for perfection
Infusing a fragrance so memorable,
With just one look…
Privy to my innermost desires
An unfathomable entity
Words fail me as I open my mouth
You’re one, whom I least deserve.
Yet you lay the world at my feet
Nudging me to take and make the best of life
Spoiling me…
But I will choose you
Over and over again.
I will choose you
Give you care and pleasure
Hope and satisfaction
Home and rejuvenation
A bosom for you to rest,
A wildness when you need one.
To be a balm in your pain
And be your rock on shaky ground…
You smile, because you give me all these
Unasked, without promise.
So I hope to do the same, and more
These are not words,
These are pieces of myself
Assembled for your delight
To give you what you have given me always,
Bliss.
