Black or White
By Keroline
I was tiny and my daddy’s lips seemed funny
Over them, I felt a giant rug God drew
That indeed made him
A handsome young dude.
My daddy trimmed it every day
Carefully he plugged it, if I may say.
His prickly peck on my cheek
Tickled my baby skin to pink
That rugged warmth I surely know
Of his jet-black handsome pillow.
I played with it all day
Sundays were special
As no trim that day.
I twirled them up to make him a king
Daddy on a horse, with his sword in the sling.
The colour now faded to a cloud of white
He says the heavens bestowed on him their light
His pecks are still warm and full of life
Kingly, royal and gently to be timed.
Clouds rest upon your lips, oh daddy!
Heavens love you but not more than me
Now, they glisten white and dazzle bright
My cheeks turn pink, stache – black or white.
