Black and White

The figure; ragged and limping,

With unbelievable and unprecedented agility,

Tied to the family stone,

Crossed the road for survival.

Burnt feet galore.

Passing, the boy with the butler,

As it happened, the celestial clock stopped.

‘The invincible wall.’

Gigantic challenges for one, easy for the other,

Gigantic challenges for one, undreamt for the other.

Not two glances given,

Juxtaposing with the millions,

In ungratefulness and disregard,

In awe and desire.

Two ends of the same stick.

It felt impossible, respect is surely what kept it.

Quite the shame, it was futile.

While one enjoyed the bugattis and mansions,

The other, traipsing for his second meal……..

In three weeks.

Likely the most useless feeling,

One of his “luck” should have felt.

Or maybe he wouldn’t,

“Why would he?”

Only if there was a soul beneath the suit.

Black and white,

Dislike gray.

Yet it still finds its way,

Through sheer “luck”.

Through sheer “luck”.

Maybe it really is a gamble.

Or maybe it's a test.

Fighting your way for favorable outcomes,

And becoming darker,

By occasionally choosing the alternative.
