Betters Days

A ballad by Kadeem Golebourne

Verse 1

I looked back at those who laugh at me,

And I have found it in my heart to forgive.

For in the time I sowed through my distress,

I knew that one day I would live to succeed.

Chorus

Oh, we’re gonna see better days,

We’ve reached the plateau of praise.

No more sorrow, no more pain.

We’re walking now, the world to gain.

Verse 2

We who were scorned now labor as one,

With hands joined together ‘til the work is done.

For the fruit our toil will be great reward,

And our names will be lifted by the grace of the Lord.

Oh, we’re gonna see better days,

We’ve reached the plateau of praise.

No more sorrow, no more pain.

We’re walking now the world to gain.

Verse 3

We’ll eat no more from the tree of sorrow,

Nor drink again from the stream of sadness.

We’ll feast instead on the vine of gladness,

I sought the jungle for words of advice,

So I need not wander in the gully called sacrifice.

My spear is ready, my eyes on the hill,

For the place of appointment is drawing near still.
