Best Delegate

By Tanvi

I thought my life would have a drastic change after I won a 'Best Delegation' and it did.

The Story:-

On 12 October, 2025. Somewhere around 5:30 p.m., the closing ceremony of Bdpsmun'25 was going on; and the Rapporteur of the UNESCO committee was on the stage announcing the results.

In the audience there was a young anxious mind, waiting, for the name. Awards, after awards were given, but no sign of what this heart desired.

Beside her a voice was heard, “Hume nahi kya kuch milega?" (Won't we get anything?) Now the anxious mind was panicking. Is that true?

This continued until the owner of the voice was called to the stage. High Commendation. Cheers. But everybody expected it. No surprise. The young soul along with others of the committee shouted that name because they knew.

But what about the 'Best Delegate'?

The EB member asked the audience to guess. And when the name the anxious heart wanted to hear was shouted, it became more nervous; but happy. The actual twist? The approval.

The Conclusion:-

My life changed after I realized that this trophy in my hand wasn't what I thought it would be. I weighted it, not that much. I examined it, not that magnificent.

Then what was I chasing after?

The excellence that it took to get to this light weighted, ordinary looking trophy.

And that excellence changed my life. Had been for a long time; it just wasn't realized.

This trophy helped me realize it.

AND IT'S SO DAMN AWESOME!!
