Beneath the trees

When my thoughts overwhelm me

I come to this place to clear my mind

My lungs fill with the fresh forest air

And my thoughts begin to subside

I look up and

see the trees dancing in the wind

I hear the birds whisper around me

I wonder what they think

Do they realise how blessed they are

To call this place their home

To me

It’s my safe space from the chaos down below
