Being Strong

I closed my eyes for just a minute,

Wanting everything to subside.

And imagined myself as a prussian margined raven,

Free and independent soaring in the wild.

I did that a lot, imagined absurd things

It helped me to escape the reality.

But still I had the courage everyday,

To wake up and just try, even though she passed away.

She was my everything, quite literally

When she left I was just seventeen.

She built me to be strong as the voice of Fate

Because of her I can work towards something great.

This is a wake up call for me and you,

To get up and seize the day by being you.

Cherish the good and remove the bad.

Some people don’t realize till it’s gone what they’ve had.

Moving on is a way of life.

There will always be obstacles, pain, and strife.

Till then let us be strong

And realize our place in this world, where we belong.
