Before We Begin, Some Things You Should Know.

You're such a pretty thing, you could make a mark,

I can't come into the light, can you step into the dark?

I have been here a long time now, don't let no one in no more,

You are the first in quite a while whom I've let through the door.

No promises I make, no demands I have, no expectations of any ties,

For it's my experience that the best of people have been known to tell some lies.

But hey that's cool, for all the times I have been scarred and burned,

In my own time I've healed my wounds, and from this I have learned.

Be nice, but cool, maintain your dignity, by oneself one can chill,

I do know that it can be done, if one has the will.

So all you people with whom in life, I have done some time,

I can share so much with you, but all the rest is mine.
