What are these beauty standards, that people care about so much?

All they ever do, is look at each other and judge.

Who’s prettier? And who’s not?

Who’s chubbier? And who’s hot?

People say beauty doesn't matter.

But then they go around, breaking hearts till their shattered.

Why don't people already decide?

Why don't people already realise?

That no one is perfect and we all have flaws.

So why don't you just wait... Take a pause.

And look beneath that facade of a smile,

that tired face and those teary eyes.

There lies someone who’s torn apart,

someone who’s trying to fit in, someone with a broken heart.

We all have scars that we try to hide.

With the help of silly excuses, we have easily lied.

That it didn't hurt, that we didn't feel the pain.

We heard all those comments you made and didn't make a single complaint.

Cause we're so used to it. To people being mean,

that now we feel afraid to even be seen.

Cause we know that people love to judge,

because there are these stupid beauty standards that people care about so much.
