Beautiful Daydreams – Zuhayr Hatia

With every sunrise and freshly opened eyes,

my mind is met with thoughts of you.

On sunny days or dark grey skies,

I'm awakened from dreams I wish were true.

Throughout the day you fill my mind,

at night you come alive.

In a fantasy land I create

where both you and I survive,

The struggles of long distance and age gap,

where our hopes and dreams will thrive.

I see you standing in our kitchen,

holding a child wrapped in your arms.

With eyes like mine, and a laugh like yours,

your finger resting within her palm.

Lives that feel real and laughter that heals,

together in our home with child toys and meals.

My soul knows nothing but your company,

my dreams know nothing but your face.

Every memory of you stays close to me,

etched upon my heart in every place.

If somehow you'd break my heart in two,

both pieces would beat for you.

Because I know in all timelines it ends with us,

and in this one, these dreams will come true.
