The washing machine needed fixing, and Athu's father was hard at work in the garage. Athu sat nearby, playing with an old outlet pipe, missing his friends.

"No Giru and Tora today?" his father asked, looking up from his work with greasy hands.

"They're getting charged," Athu said, swinging the pipe above his head. "So today, I get to be your helper!"

His father's tired face broke into a warm smile. "Just a few more minutes, buddy, then we can play together."

As Athu swung the pipe faster, a strange sound caught his ear. "Dad! Dad! Listen! The pipe is singing!"

His father paused his work. "That's wind passing through the pipe," he explained. "Try different speeds – each one makes a different sound."

Athu's eyes lit up as he conducted his pipe symphony. "It's like magic! I could use this to call Giru and Tora on our adventures!"

"Well," his father said gently, "I need this pipe for the washing machine. But..." he added, seeing Athu's disappointment, "I know how to make something even better."

When the repairs were done, they went to the kitchen. Athu watched in wonder as his father took a paper straw and carefully cut a small V-shape in it. "Now watch," he said with twinkling eyes.

A clear, bright whistle filled the kitchen. Athu gasped with delight as his father handed him the simple but magical gift.

Soon the house echoed with happy whistling as Athu ran from room to room. "Wait till Giru and Tora see what Dad made for me!" he called out joyfully. "This is the best!"

Watching his son play, Athu's father smiled, knowing that sometimes the smallest gifts can create the biggest memories.
