The drums are rolling, the music is on,

People are waiting, on the green lawn,

My master is waiting, I must be gone,

For I am the dancing monkey and the show must go on.

“Hey there! You lazy infernal moron,

Quick my whip or you’ll wish you were never born,

Crack! Quick! Hurry! Put your dancing shoes on,

Crack! Quick! Find your smile! Where is it gone?

For people are waiting and the show must go on. “

“The work is done, now let’s dine,

Here are your peanuts, the cashews are mine,

I think you’ll agree, the shares are just fine.”

Fine! How can you say that when all work is mine?

“What work? You monkey with just brawn,

You wore your shoes and danced merrily on,

Filling my whip, has my muscle torn,

How dare you say , you’re tired and worn!

Quit is you must, I don’t care,

For with or without you the show will go on!
