At Dusk

I changed who I was for you

When the crescent showed her face

Before the last light left

The cows cudding in their stables

Your faded memories rose once

When evening breathed his last.

Breath but died down

As the seas regain calm

When the storm has passed

Vacant eyes stare

Up at the vacant sky

Fearing not the shroud of night

But dreading the light of day

Foolish heart pines

When day reminds of heat.

In the end

Sleep has the last say.
