As Good As New

I hold a mirror

Brush away a lonely tear

The face staring at me is not my own

I hardly recognize this person who is all alone

Give me a hand

Some light, some batteries

For my dark, battered heart

I’ll take some wax

Pour it on the gaps

And I’ll be as good as new..

Good as new…

I stare at the stranger

So familiar, yet so peculiar..

Her hollow eyes,

Reflect the lies,

She has told herself.

With some gears for eyes

Oil running down her cheek

She’ll be as good as new

Good as new…….

A cog work human with no emotion….

A cog work woman with no emotion…

She’ll be as good as new…

I’ll be as good as new… Good as new…….
