Artwork By Mritsa

"A clay, plaster of Paris sculpture by Mritsa (ritzy) based on the sentence: ""You can't lock me in a frame."" As someone who grew up loving art I was always surrounded by people who perceived only certain things as art when art is all around us- it jumps out of frames into our real lives as well. Art isn't just what's locked in a frame on a wall, its the clothes we wear, the comics we read, the movies we watch and the buildings we live in- all are art. As an artist I would love to burst out of ""framed"" and restricted perception of what is art and break away from the when I say I am an artist and this is my artistic manifestation of my thoughts and wishes. The sculpture draws inspiration from Van Gogh's famous still life painting: ""Fifteen Sunflowers In A Vase"" and RM's song: Still Life."
