SIZE - 4’ x 2’ MATERIAL USED - Lime and marble powder mixed in water churned with a chakki (stone kin ) and natural water based pigments charcoal, geru - natural stone etc. PAINTED WITH - Wooden thappi ( local word for pallet or zenith), Intent - Today the world is surrounded with synthetic and chemical products in which as artists / architect we use materials making fabulous painting on the cost of our nature. Materials do send their remaining residue in rivers lakes etc., affecting our environment big time. The painting made here was made by 100% natural substances. The painting hardens itself over a period of time, remains cooler and emits no odor, rather purifies the air in the space. Now just imagine your painting is not just visually appealing but it keeps you and your environment safe. These abstractions are formed through various reasons firstly to create balance between the quantity of color, second the usage of thappi allows certain moments only and the final one is the color is in the form of a paste. The drying is natural, so the texture which you see appears naturally like if there is humidity in the environment then the texture will be different and if there is more sun then the texture will be different. Therefore the painting is resultant of many natural phenomena like a living thing.
