Are You Enough?

Do you bend to their rules

and wait to be chosen?

Do you silence your truth

just to look unbroken?

Do their frowns stop you?

Do their whispers define you?

Do the chains called customs

quietly bind and confine you?

Do you fear the crooked paths,

the ones that are never approved?

Does it break your heart

each time you are removed?

Let them think.

Let them speak.

Let them walk away, if they do.

What they say, what they see

is never the real you.

You may wear a crown,

or walk behind in the line,

When you are with yourself

even shadows will shine.

So ask yourself

in the silence, in the dark,

when no one is watching,

when no one leaves a mark.

Are you enough

for the soul you carry through?

Because in the endnothing matters more

than being enough

for yourself!
