Apprehensions Before Leaving Home

I don't know how to see the world

Without the snow capped mountains,

And specks of green at every corner.

I don't know how to hear anything,

Without my mother's opinions,

Without my father's judgement.

I don't know how to walk on any road,

If it’s not the same old one I've walked before,

The one that always leads me home.

I don't know how to face this world,

Without the fear of the unknown,

Which I’ve never learned to fight before.
