ANXIETY.

The walls are closing in,

Feels like there’s no way to win,

Feel like an outsider looking in,

Shamed for the color of my skin.

Feel like I’m about to palpitate,

And in my corner no advocate,

Feelings a lot of y’all can relate,

Feelings I’m unable to communicate.

Shamed for my anxiety,

A plague to society,

Trying to hide my fears,

Only rolling down harder my tears.

No way out of here,

That much is clear,

Anxiety has come out to play,

Strangled unable to have a say.

Feelings you may or may not understand,

In fear of victim to reprimand,

With nobody to hold my hand,

Forced to be a one-man island.

Anxiety makes me feel all alone,

Tearing me to pieces, skin and bone,

Pieces I have yet to atone,

Heart like glass with a mind of stone.
