Anticipation
By Dr Anjali Limanpure
I know i fumble & I'm all shy
I wish you could read all that is into my eyes
With every step you take in opposite direction
I think of you everyday, minute & second
It's scary how you are always on my mind
I write these poems and can't even send
Do you do that too?
Search for me, when you walk into a room.
It's 4 am in the morning
& i can't even see what I've been writing
Yes, you do that to me,
And act like it's nothing.
I don't know if any of this is real
I wish I knew how you feel
It's funny you don't have a clue
I have a lifetime worth of plans with you
All the ways I can fit into ur arms
wrape them around me, and I'll be home
so much of emotions, I wish I could tell
a wave that hits me and I gladly loose myself.
Everytime you are around me
its hard not to reach,
Take whats mine and everything we could be.
It's a fact, I never stopped falling
I'm a lost cause, there is no saving.
And sometimes i wonder
If confessing is any better?
This bubble is my safe heaven
I can dream all my life & die a happy woman.
And I'm not weak, don't get me wrong,
This anticipation is better than being turned down.
Not every ship that sails reaches a harbor,
And I'm no damsel in distress who needs a saviour.
You are the northern star
And I'll always cherish you from afar.
All i want is for you to smile
Because those damn dimples are my lifeline.
I know its a lot but nothing needs to change
You can be who you are and I can still grieve your absence.
