Annie

Hello little girl,

With your tiny little paws

Some white, some black

Yet very sharp claws!

Was it just a few months ago

When we spied you on the street

Half cuddling, half tumbling, covered in sand,

You and the other puppies, such a treat

Why little one,

did we pick you?

Maybe we were enchanted

Or just destined to

We had to be firm

Or you would take us for a ride

Yet all it took was one look

And we'd move the worlds to your side

But little did we know

God had other plans

He made you special Annie

Beyond our perfect romance

They told us Indies are a breeze,

Then why did you in pain shudder

Gaping wounds, hurting hearts,

It was always something or the other

You looked at us with trusting eyes

It broke our hearts

To watch you suffer

God make whole all her aching parts!

Loving you is so easy

With your pure little soul

As we watch you through our tears

It's all a haze

Dear Powers that be

Here our whispered prayer

Make our Annie perfect in body as in soul

Please let our family stay complete.
