And The Grass Was Green
By Manushree Mishra
And the grass was green,
with a blissful scene.
Passers-by saw that green
from faraway,
they went all keen,
and those passers-by
they came nearby.
They were mesmerized,
with that green a sight.
They held their breath;
for that divine a sight
One wants to cheat death.
Sat there - absorbed that green in their eye,
that green grass took away their entire cry.
They - lighten up, freshen up and lay down,
they stayed forever as the grass was green.
One day,
Trough arrived here,
the grass wasn't green,
was no twinkling scene.
There was blood and sand and thunderstorm;
Standing behind him was the great rainfall.
Those Passers-by, got up and ran
They ran away......
for the next grassland.
