An Old Man

They say it’s a blessing to grow old

To be experienced

And to know it all.

But what about those,

Who never learned how to live?

Not all wrinkled smileshold the secret to success.

Not all aching joints have climbed mountains galore.

When you see an old man sitting all alone,

Don’t be too sure that he’s reminiscing the days of old.

He doesn’t know which way to go

Shall he live the last bit of his life

Or shall he while away his remaining time?

Because one step is all it takes

To live the life you’ve never lived.

But now that the old man is finally awake

From his life-long stupor,

He has finally stepped out into the world,

To live and laugh

And perhaps even

Find his one true love.
