An A.

If my eyes are not lying, I’m pretty sure that’s what’s on the screen, right? An A.

A wave of bliss washes over me, molding my mind, eyes, cheeks and mouth. An A…in economics.

The one subject who I desperately wanted but who never wanted me. The one string who kept pulling away when I pushed forward.

The one subject that tested my endurance and resilience.

And now it’s mine.

My entire two years of high school, my mind was fascinated by this extraordinary subject. This subject crafted my mind in ways unimaginable and taught me things invaluable.

The subject which used to bring forth disappointment after disappointment has finally blossomed, like a tulip in spring.

How can my words describe the continuous journey of falling and getting back up, of feeling like “you can’t” when you proved that “you did”, when you tried and you failed.

How every drop of stress, pressure and determination was leading up to this moment. How can I describe what it means to feel proud of one’s self and make others proud of you?

The dying desire of your potential to shine when you know it’s still backstage and never got the chance.

The struggle and effort to once and for all tell myself, “This one’s for you.” Convincing myself that “I can”, when I wasn’t sure if “I could”.

When there are zero cheerleaders, zero enthusiasts, just YOU. Standing with your undying fire inside.

That speaks volumes that could swallow entire oceans.

There is some underlying satisfaction of struggling, failing and still having the audacity to show up.

And try again.

And again.

And again.

AND AGAIN.

Because there is no such thing as ‘giving up’.

So, to all the people who dare to dream. Don’t stop dreaming.

To those who dare to fight. Don’t stop fighting.

To those who dare to believe. Keep believing.

And to every single soul out there who has the courage to fall and fail, keep getting up..and never stop.

Because you are right.

You are meant for so much more.

You always have been.
