கண்ணுறங்கும் வேளையிலே கதை பேச அழைத்தவளே

கதை கொண்டு நான் வந்தேன் கனவாகி நீ நின்றாய்

கனவாகி நிற்பவளே - உன் கருவறையின் சுகம் நாடி

இருள் அறையில் ஒரு முனையில் உடல் குறுகி அமர்ந்தபடி

கல்லறைக்குள் சென்றவளே - உன் கருவறைக்குள் நான் வந்தேன்

கருவறையை நான் அடைந்தும் - உன் கை தீண்டல் இல்லை அம்மா

மறு உலகை கண்டதுமே - நீ

என்னை மறந்து சென்றாயோ????????

Translation:

As I raced off to sleep, I heard you calling to read me a tale,

I walked up to you with a tale in hand and there you stand as a dream leaving me deluded.

To the one I lost and speak to in dreams, to feel the warmth of your womb fort,

I sat there cuddling myself in a corner of a room filled with darkness.

Amidst the darkness surrounding me, I see you sleeping in a tomb beneath the ground,

I crawled my way back into your womb fort seeking warmness.

On reaching back to the darkness from where I first saw the light, heart senses the warmness and yet the body longing for your gracious touch,

Oh, my dear mother… Have you forgotten me as you left this world behind???
