Amare
By Shubham Kumar
What feeling is it
Which my heart abides,
Wandering within thy soul
For it is her presence which stood with character,
Came in a storm and took my agony on a toll
Who was she, how with a sway so strong
A mind would always dwell,
Yet her being was of no ordinary
One could perhaps tell
Wise men would now say to me,
When I glimpse at her, like she is the sun
Alas, you drank the divine poison now
For you might be in love young one,
Was I in love,
or was it an assertion too eager to fly
None could answer this
Since my own conscious about this wouldn’t try
All it took was her aura,
To dim the world which I despise,
Her air, was that of a saint
And to not fall, would now be my demise
Her touch was my bliss,
For her hands felt like home
And to not caress her fingers
Would be my eternal sin
Millions of stars, painted the canvas
For we were the witnesses of the night
In each other’s embrace we breathed
And it was here my millennia, I would spend
Amare 1
The hatchling had now flown
And the doubt did not sustain
I was deeply in love
And in love I shall remain
Pious, I have become
To what she means to me
And one shall let the emotions seep through
When our tale comes to be
But thus, like a river in a ravine
A man shall too, pass
Yet the almighty could only take me away
Our love, will continue to last
To her, I wish all of the moon’s light
And all of the sun’s shade
For she made even the darkest gleam
Love is what cherished within us
And for it to live ageless, is the dream.
