Am I Wrong in Thee?

I sang for you once a cold song, a lonely song

With a sluggish rhythm, and with all that was wrong.

All the people were screaming, all shouting at me.

Now, can you tell me? Am I wrong in thee?

I drew for you once, a portrait, a dull portrait

With all things I despised and with all that I hate.

Each of them is weeping, each one’s bawling for me.

Maybe you’ll tell me. Am I wrong in thee?

I wrote to you a short poem, a sorrowful poem

Without any meaning, and without any home.

Everyone’s chortling, everyone’s chuckling at me.

Then, won’t you tell me? Am I wrong in thee?

I saw regret in the clouds, heard the heaven’s cries.

With the hurtful truths, and with melancholic lies.

Everybody’s sad and mad about what I did.

I’m sure you’ll tell me. I am wrong indeed.
