All Grown Up

A parent’s only wish in their life,

Is to see their kids succeed where they failed

To give them the things they could never get

And to watch them give their best to prevail

Now the time has come, where her daughter stands tall Ready to receive the reward for putting in the hours To get ready to face the world from that moment hence A mother as her witness who tells her to savour the showers

She walks upon that stage in her gown and cap With a confidence on her and a warm, fuzzy sensation As she takes that degree and lifts her arms in joy As her mother watches in tears of elation

She walks down and runs straight to the one,

Who tried her best to guide her to this special day An ‘I love you’ made it all seem worth it in the end Now she’s ready to watch her daughter make her own way
