A Winter Wedding

By Mimna V M

Remember the vows,

We took them together,

In this once-green meadow,

When the snow was falling

The land was frozen.

And then as white as

Your custom-made gown

Remember the vows,

We took them together,

Under the blood red roses,

Wrapped so well, over the bow

But still not as pretty,

As the wild mistle toes near

Remember the vows,

That chained us together,

For a lifeless life,

From that winter,

An everlasting season,

From then on

Remember the vows,

That kept you bound,

To a love, that never was yours

But can I tell you

What I remember?

Only red, white and

Long lost green
