A thousand miles away

I wish I said stay and don’t go

I am far too young and you are getting old

maybe you did not love me enough

for Your path was smooth and mine was rough

when you cradled me in your arms for the first time

I was the apple of your eye, till the day you die

you would love me forever, till the end of the world

but a pretty butterfly, fluttered by and threw me in the cold

My heart broke and broke into a thousand pieces

I never thought, never understood about tight-fist releases

And now you are a thousand miles away

So my memories of you start to fray

The mirror stares at me, in my simple white dress

I walk down the aisle and husky whispers start to regress

Who will give this hand away, there is no one there

Tears flow behind my veil, because you did not care

My misty eyes look upon your dying face

Trying to hold on to the memories of your warm embrace

No one to hold your hand when you took your final bow

the air stood still, my kiss adieu, upon your resting brow
