A Star Is Gone

By Sreemanti Bag

When sunlight percolates through the window pane,

I can feel how still

I am wriggling in pain-

All my last efforts to cuddle you up in my arms went all but in vain!

Desolated, isolated,

Feeling like insane,

I question myself-

Shall I seek revenge,

Or try to revamp and regain?

My thoughts blur like drops of rain-

Was my love not destined to last?

Not in soul, but in flesh and blood!-

Went paltry, mundane !

My image mocks at me when I look into the mirror

I wish to die in shame.

When sunlight percolates through the window pane,

I can feel how still I am wriggling in pain.
