A silent wish upon stars.

I gaze up at the dark, star-painted sky,

Where silver lights echo the spark you once held in your eyes.

The gentle wind hums secrets, soft and deep.

A quiet promise your soul still keeps.

Remember when we used to sit here, back when we were young?

I still think of the funny faces we made, using our tongues.

Now you’ve become the wind, the stars, the air,

A distant glow; I search, but you're not there.

Lost to my sight, yet never truly gone,

You linger with me, like an endless song.

Oh, how I wish you were still near,

There’s so much left I long to share.

But if we meet in another lifetime someday,

I’ll hold you close and never let you slip away.
