A Pleasant Surprise Of Fate

Stopping in my tracks

Feeling surreal ,

Allured by the unexpected guest

At my doorstep

Time nearly midnight

After countless lonely nights

Standing front of me, you are

All dressed up

With the bouquet of

delicate chrysanthemum

Not knowing how many hours

You waited ,

Just similar to the past ,

Back in my college days

Reached home late every night

Nice seeing my loved ones

After a loaded day .

That night the stars created

A pattern lovelier than never before

With the unexpected guest at home

Looked like you were eager for me

My heart did a flip-flop seeing you

Across the hall

Freshened up, Yeah

Maybe dressed up a bit than usual

Called you for a stroll , in the garden

Just the two of us

Shy to talk , but

The ice broke away with

The eye contact.

Casual and comfy company ,

My body gave in

For a hug , maybe surprised you there

Brought me closer

To listen to your heartbeat

Forming deeper connections

With our embrace ,

Short lived as you patted my head

As you left

Tears filled both our eyes.

Now standing ,

With your arms wide open

And that fine smile

Letting myself to feel it all

Again

By sinking deeper connection

Of embrace

Stars as audience , to our

Nightly love

The rusted strings of our heart ,

Tuned to perfection , just as new

As the tune of love flows .

Inseparable as the turns of events

Fate tied a knot

Long ago

Brought the sparkle in my soul

As you came to me

Now together forever,

Cuddled on the sofa

With all emotions I ever dreamt of ,

Soundly asleep

Our rings sparkled with the onset of dawn

Just like the rings of Saturn .
