A Placid Night

By Dipti David

Under a placid night sky, lies a placid water bed.

It was the night where anyone needn’t dread.

The night where the starving animals get fed.

A calm and serene night it was

until my sleep went for a toss.

A calm and serene night it was,

Haven’t an idea for what cause.

A calm and serene night it was,

the ravaging thoughts that I wanted to pause.

A calm and serene night it was,

I just wanted to stop;

my ravaging thoughts.

Oh, what a calm and blissful night it was.

Oh, what a calm and blissful night it was.

A placid night!

Oh, what a beautiful sight.

I wanted to hold on so tight,

to the placid night.
