A Persecution

Keep the frail hand over that shallow heart,

Do you feel the uneven beat, the curt..?

Emotions bashing like tidal waves against the rocks,

How to feel empty when memories come mock?

Don't want to remember, don't want to forget.

Time's running wild, an invisible threat.

Forcing a truce, the white flag hoisted up high,

But in truth, the defenceless heart was sentenced to die.

In a haste to wash the mind clean of yesterday's dust?

For the next to come..?

But let's get this heart burried first,

For it has been named and killed,

In the war that was never fought in a battlefield.
