A new beginning just at the end

I wake up in the darkness of the night

in a shrill of terror, with shadows that come to bite

a tugging here and a nudging there

as I feel myself sinking into an unknown stare

This pain I feel is more than I can bear

From the very depths of me I start to not care

As I look at all the memories on the walls around me

Its them I hold onto but it’s chaining me, can’t they see

I open my eyes to a nightmare upon a nightmare

A churning turmoil of fear, now the shadows reappear

A tugging there and a nudging there

My heart slows down ever so meagre, like a strand of hair

I hold on, hold on to every breath

As the whispers grow louder, the whispers of death

“She belongs to me!” says a voice that is near

The light illuminates the valley, there’s nothing to fear

It’s time to let go, open the doors, open the windows!

A river of peace and beauty swirls and flows

Remember me forever as I start to ascend

I start a new beginning just at the end
